Act one has three major blackouts: the scene between
Arabian Nights and One Jump Ahead, the scene between One
Jump Ahead and Proud of Your Boy, and the last 22 minutes of
the act, which is all of Friend Like Me and Act One Finale.
There is also a head that blocks center stage and the action
is often lost behind it. Act two is much better with no blackouts
and only some heads on the bottom; good sound throughout;
good video when there is a picture

Alice By Heart
Alice By Heart - March 2019 Off Broadway

Really beautiful shot in an intimate space. Lots of zooms, but a good amount of wider shots too with a very limited (almost nonexistent) amount of heads. The lighting in this theater really liked my camera and I know the show almost "by heart" so I think I followed the action as well as possible. My battery died during the last song, but it starts at the very beginning with only one drop out during dialogue.

Closing show! Or “rock concert” if you ask Christy Altomare. Yeah so this is a pretty obstructed video. Everyone was really excited so people were standing up, people were moving around, and honestly I had a little trouble paying attending to my viewfinder with all of the tears streaming down my face. Like Beetlejuice I would say it’s mostly like highlights, but all of the things that happen in the center part of the stage are captured really well and the video is DEFINITELY Christy centric. “Journey to the Past” is complete and gorgeous and you will cry. First act starts around when Anya meets Dmitry and the second act starts during “Crossing A Bridge.”

Andrew Polec, Christina Bennington, Rob Fowler, Sharon Sexton, Aran MacRae, Danielle Steers, Dom Hartley-Harris, Giovanni Spano
A strong capture of the full show, with wides, mediums, and closeups. There are no obstructions to the shot, apart from one head that occasionally gets in the way, but there is some wandering, a little spotlight washout (not too severe, however), and flickering at the 'floor lights'. Very stable footage which follows the action nicely. Plus, all the effects and stage tricks are included! Act Two is a little dark, although this is down to stage lighting more than camera settings. Due to the acoustics of the London Coliseum, the audio is a tiny bit muffled, but at a nice and steady volume. Includes glimpses of the curtain call.

Some small heads can occasionally be seen, but they don't block the action. It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call, encore, and playbill scans.

MASTER NOTES "This is probably my most obstructed bootleg ever. When I could get zooms they’re pretty (and I’m really trying my hardest for both Sophia and Kerry - “Dead Mom” looks GREAT and is really consistent), but I would probably consider this more like highlights with how many heads keep popping up. I don’t love it, but you can keep up with what is happening and see the WILD effects they have going on here...which is good enough for now. Video starts at “Ready, Set, Not Yet” and is complete from there. And honestly this video (and this show) is worth it just for “Dead Mom.”

A decent capture of the show, a couple weeks after opening. Filmed with a mix of wides, mediums, and closeups, there are no obstructions except for a head on the far right and a railing that are both only visible in very wide shots. Washout is present in the wides, but the closeups are very nice. There's a four minute blackout in Act One but the show is completely full otherwise. Defaults to zooming on Jason Tam when he's onstage, but will still focus on the important characters in the scene

Nice HD stage shot from the center mezzanine, with a mostly unblocked view of the stage except for the top of a head at the bottom of the screen. Only known video of Troy as Michael and Cameron as Jake! Act One is full, but Act Two starts missing scenes after the Smartphone Hour and the master filled those in with audio from Cameron's debut as the SQUIP, with George Salazar as Michael, Joel as Heere, and Britton as Jake.

Nice capture of this new show; first couple minutes of each act are blacked out while everyone got settled, and a couple very short blackouts throughout the show, but those are less than 30 seconds each; slight little washout in some of the wides, and there's one head on the left that blocks the actors' legs occasionally; very good video

Andrew Rannells, Josh Gad, Nikki M. James, Rory O'Malley, Michael Potts, Scott Barnhardt, Justin Bohon, Darlesia Cearcy, Lewis Cleale, Kevin Duda, Asmeret Ghebremichael, Clark Johnsen, John Eric Parker
This is the fourth and final workshop of the show, so it's almost all there, but with some differences from the final version. It is presented before a small audience in a rehearsal space, with risers used as set pieces. Some of the actors are in costumes (mostly the Mormons), others are in street clothes. "Hasa Diga Eebowi" here is called "Vasa Diga Eelohai", but it's very close to the final version. Includes cut songs "Family Home Evening", "The Bible, Part 3" (which morphed into "All-American Prophet") and "H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks" (which later became "Spooky Mormon Hell Dream"). Filmed using two camcorders on tripods. A The Book of Mormon 3/1/11 ~ Broadway Andrew Rannells, Josh Gad, Nikki M. Gavin Creel, Jared Gertner, Samantha Marie Ware, Kevin Mambo, Grey Henson, Derek Williams, Josh Breckenridge, Jeffery David Sears, Mike McGowan, Bud Weber, Phyre Hawkins
Filmed in a 16:9 ratio in a combination of wides, mediums, and close-ups; only obstruction is a head in the very middle of the screen and one off to the side. The head in the middle is only visible in the very far wides, the head on the left side of the screen is rarely ever there except for a couple of seconds at the end of the first act; a couple of washouts and whiteouts that occur but only really during the wides. They are randomly dispersed so it doesn't affect the video too much. At a couple of times the DVD is a little blurry and gets a little shaky but other than that it is pretty good.

Beautiful HD close-ups but some long drop-outs and quite a few obstructed scenes. The rake in the mezzanine at the Neil Simon kinda stinks and I'm pretty sure the ushers were playing flashlight tag with each other the entire show. but I began to care a lot less as the night went on Video is very Cher-centric...choreography in "Dark Lady" is captured beautifully, but for the rest of the show I was mostly focused on getting those Stephanie, Teal, and Micaela zooms. We start at the scene before "Half Breed" and when Stephanie tells everyone to stand up for the finale it's all over for my filming ability.

Company
Company 1970 Documentary
Stephen Sondheim's musical "Company" opened on Broadway in the Spring of 1970, and tradition dictates that the cast recording is done on the first Sunday after opening night. D.A. Pennebaker, the now-legendary documentarian, filmed the production of the original cast recording, the back and forth between Sondheim and the performers, and the dynamic of trying to record live performance. The film climaxes with Elaine Stritch's performance of "The Ladies Who Lunch".The show won 6 Tony Awards including "Best Musical" and ran for two years on Broadway.

Dean Jones, Elaine Stritch, Barbara Barrie, Beth Howland, Charles Kimbrough, Merle Louise, Donna McKechnie, Pamela Myers, and the rest of the original Broadway cast
Patti says, "Good afternoon," not "Good evening," so it is the matinee, not the night performance as on the other disk. It is a completely new video which has just surfaced. Well filmed with amazing clarity for being so old. There is some obstruction occasionally on the left side of the picture, looks like it might be a cloth or something the filmer used to hide his camera.

Be More Chill May 18, 2019 Broadway
Will Roland (Jeremy Heere), Troy Iwata (u/s Michael Mell), Stephanie Hsu (Christine Canigula), Jason Tam (The Squip), Gerard Canonico (Rich Goranski), Katlyn Carlson (Chloe Valentine), Tiffany Mann (Jenna Rolan), Lauren Marcus (Brooke Lohst), Cameron Bond (u/s Jake Dillinger), Jason 'Sweettooth' Williams (Mr. Heere/Mr. Reyes/Scary Stockboy)

Gerard's debut as Jeremy, and Troy's first performance as Rich on Broadway! Act One Only, ends after Be More Chill Part 1. Includes audios of the show—Act One starts at Do You Wanna ride, and Act Two is full. Filmed between two heads, but they don't interrupt the action for the most part. Only known footage of Gerard as Jeremy and Troy as Rich on Broadway.

Closing night! The energy in the theatre is absolutely incredible, with every song receiving a standing ovation. Filmed from one of the first few rows in the center orchestra, with several head obstructions. Blindshot, and the action isn’t always focused on, but what is captured is very nice quality!

Mezzanine bar visible at bottom of the screen on some of the wide shots but it doesn't interfere with anything. Disc also includes behind the scenes footage, interviews and reviews. Pro-shot.

The Book of Mormon 9/6/2012 Los Angeles, CA
The Book of Mormon 11/18/2012 ~ Broadway
K.J Hippensteel (u/s Elder Price), Cale Krise, Nikki M. James, Rory O'Malley, Michael Potts, Brian Tyree Henry
Filmed from the back of the stalls and unobstructed. The first half of act one is a blind-shot, so there's some wandering and sometimes the camera is pointed too high. Hello is there, some of Two by Two, but You and Me is audio only; Act 2 is much better and focuses on the stage throughout; sound is good; good video

Well filmed with amazing clarity for being so old. There is some obstruction occasionally on the left side of the picture, looks like it might be a cloth or something the filmer used to hide his camera.

Dear Evan Hansen December 2016 Broadway
Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Will Roland, Kristolyn Lloyd, Mike Faist, Michael Park
Nice capture of Act One Only with no washout and just one quick dropout during the scene after Waving Through a Window; one head that blocks part of the front of the stage, but it's worked around generally doesn't do more than block the actors' legs; excellent clear sound throughout; nice video
Dear Evan Hansen 6/24/2017 Broadway
Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Michael Park, Mike Faist, Will Roland, Oliva Puckett (u/s Alana)
Excellent HD capture with no obstructions. Filmed shortly after the show's 2017 Tony wins for Best Actor and Best Musical Award; video starts with some spotlight washout but improves as it continues. Great clear picture and sound

Taylor Trensch, Mallory Bechtel, Alex Boniello, Lisa Brescia, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Michael Park, Phoenix Best, Sky Lakota-Lynch
Missing the first 20 minutes of the show. Starts a little bit before "Requiem" but is complete from there. Small obstruction on bottom right of the screen for some of the show, and camera can be jumpy at times. Otherwise clear sound and nicely filmed for the remainder. Nice video
Dear Evan Hansen October 18, 2018 First National Tour (Los Angeles)
Stephen Christopher Anthony (alt. Evan Hansen), Maggie McKenna (Zoe Murphy), Marrick Smith (Connor Murphy), Jessica Phillips (Heidi Hansen), Phoebe Koyabe (Alana Beck), Aaron Lazar (Larry Murphy), Jared Goldsmith (Jared Kleinman), Jennifer Christiane Noll (Cynthia Murphy)
Most of Act one. There were a lot of difficulties during the show. Master had to leave unfortunately so they couldn't get the entire show.
Dear Evan Hansen December 29, 2018 Broadway
Taylor Trensch (Evan Hansen), Gabrielle Carrubba (u/s Zoe Murphy), Alex Boniello (Connor Murphy), Nicole Van Gieson (u/s Heidi Hansen), Jennifer Laura Thompson (Cynthia Murphy), Michael Park (Larry Murphy), Phoenix Best (Alana), Sky Lakota-Lynch (Jared)
Act One only! Gabrielle is a wonderful Zoe and really gives the role her all. Filmed from the center mezzanine, with obstructions in the bottom of the screen, filmed between heads. Lots of washout, especially in the brighter scenes, but definitely watchable.

Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena, Annaleigh Ashford, Nick Blaemire, Becca Ayers, Josh Segarra
Great HD capture in a very small theater, in wider shots heads can be in the frame toward the bottom, but mostly shot over them.
